Strontium


Strontium is similar in structure to calcium and can replace calcium in bone structure. It may be essential for proper bone growth and might help reduce tooth decay.

FOOD SOURCES

Trace amounts are present in most foods.

SUPPLEMENTATION

Not required with a normal Western diet.

SIGNS OF DEFICIENCY

There are no known signs of deficiency.

SIGNS OF TOXICITY

May replace the calcium in bone if taken in excess. It is not known whether this is harmful.
